Filipa Faria de Carvalho is a Portuguese artist who was fortunate enough to grow up and live in numerous continents and countries, learning several languages as a result.
While artistic drive was present from an early age, it was through her BA in Business & Hotel Management which further exposed her to different cultures and philosophies, that prompted a desire to pursue a career in art. Her lifetime of travel is reflected in her artwork as a continual source of inspiration.
Filipa´s fascination with the diverse landscapes of the universe, in particular their interconnectedness, was a main source of creativity. This collection of paintings intends to mirror both the vastness of our galaxy, along with its delicate and intricate details; whilst simultaneously inspiring the limitless imagination residing in the collective consciousness. The techniques used were a mixture of acrylics, resin and mixed media, creating a combination of textures reflecting both the depth and subtlety of the metaphysical.
Filipa continues to develop her projects at The Sculpture Factory, a collective art space in Sintra, Portugal.
Filipa Faria de Carvalho é uma artista portuguesa que teve a sorte de crescer e viver em vários continentes e países, aprendendo várias línguas. Embora o impulso artístico estivesse presente desde a sua infância, foi através do seu BA em Business & Hotel Management que a expôs ainda mais a diferentes culturas e filosofias, que despertou o desejo de seguir uma carreira artística.
Exprimindo-se de uma forma livre e intimista, inspirando-se na natureza e no cosmos, Filipa reflete nas suas obras as vivências adquiridas nas viagens pelo mundo. Estabelecendo a conexão entre o mundo real, o espiritual e o onírico, deixa a alma fluir e capta a vastidão e a essência do universo com grande vitalidade criativa.
As suas pinturas pretendem espelhar a vastidão da nossa galáxia, juntamente com os seus detalhes delicados e intrincados; e simultaneamente despertar a imaginação ilimitada que reside na consciência coletiva. Usando várias técnicas, as suas obras têm o intuito de refletir a profundidade e a sutileza da metafísica, bem como os sentidos de quem as observa, aprofundando a ligação com o mundo interior de cada um.
A Filipa continua a desenvolver os seus projectos na Sculpture Factory, um espaço colectivo de arte em Sintra, Portugal.
